01
What is a Front lace wig?
A front lace wig is something we use to descibe the full wig for a full head. It is a very fine lace that when out up against your own skin, its very close to impossible to see so this is how I get the effect of a natural hairline so you and other people would not really see and notice you are wearing a wig.
02
What does 'knotting' mean?
'Knotting' is a term I use which describe the process of adding the hair to a 'lace foundation'. The lace foundation is what forms the shape of your hair which is made onto a head shaped block. When this is made it will fit to the shape and size of your head, but it is also easily edjusted if a bit too big or too small when you try this on for the first time.
03
Where do we go to for our first appointment?
I make home visits for all the appointments made with you. You will be in the comfort of your own home so nothing is too daunting if you have confidence issues and you will be meeting only me. I have experience with working with other clients with health issues and I shall make you as comfortable with me as I can
04
How much are the wigs or hair piece?
Fees for the hand crafted wig making and consultations start from £800 for a full wig and £600 for a topper plus the hair cost which can vary depending on type of hair and size of head. The starting prices include materials used to make the lace foundation and the time spent into making each piece.
I will give a confirmed quote once we have had the first consultaion with you and discussed what you would like, preferably the same day.
if you require more than one wig at a time I can create a package and price fortwo - to be discussed.
05
What is a hair piece/topper?
A hair piece or topper is a small piece of lace which sits on the top of your head. Usually covering the crown area and where your hair parts and will fall over the rest of your head and hair. Cut with the hair you already have to blend into it but none of your hair will be cut so you dont need to worry about this.
06
What is involved in the process of the appointment if I am interested in getting a wig or hair piece.
For the first appointment, this is FREE! we meet and discuss the options I offer and what would suit you best. I take a template of your head shape using cling film and selotape covering your head and taking note of where your hair line is or where you want it to be.
I go through the process as if you are wanting to have the wig or hair piece but you can always get back in touch to comfirm or decline if you want to go ahead or not after having time to think it over after receieving all the information (which can be alot in one go!)
I go through hair colour with you, matching to your own or creating something new - but its always best to go with a colour you are familiar with as too much change can be a bit too much and you want to make sure you get what you want and like for the money you pay for wig or hair piece.
We then discuss style of hair; fringe, side fringe, parting in the middle or to the side.
The
I will also answer any questions and help you understand and know everything you need to.
07
How long does it take to make a wig and/or hair piece?
A wig usually takes about a week to a week and a half to make and a hair piece takes a few days to a week to compelete. This process involves making the lace foundation, meeting again to make sure this fits you; and then the process of individually hand knotting the hair onto the lace foudation which takes a lot of hours to complete. I will give a demonstration of the knotting process on the first initial meeting.
